THE CONSEQUENCES OF CHOICES
Life is largely about choices. Thank you for choosing to read this article on choices. In almost everything we do while alive, we make choices, especially as adults. For children, sometimes parents have to make choices for them, but they also make choices when they become rebellious and follow bad friends which can have lifelong consequences.
Have you ever had to make a difficult choice? You see, there are moments in life when we have to make hard choices. At the same time, there are moments when we make rather easy choices or what seems like an easy choice.
I am aware that we live in a “short-term world” so most people focus on things that bring short-term benefits but long-term pain. As a result of choices, some people have chosen the way to destruction. What are you choosing today? The highway to destruction? You see, choices can be both good and bad. If you make a good choice, you will have a good reward. If you make a bad choice, you will have to deal with the consequences.
I don’t know what you are going through. But if it is a life of pain and regret, don’t just blame other people, examine your life today and reflect on your choices. Whether as individuals, families, or nations, the choices we make are the rewards we would have. Sometimes, the choices we make, affect our children and children’s children and loved ones around us.
Most times relationships break up because people make poor choices and focus on short-term benefits. Husbands and wives make poor and selfish choices and become unfaithful. Again and again, people have lost very good opportunities as a result of poor choices rooted in short-term benefits.
What are you choosing today? Abusing drugs to make you feel high? Sleeping around for short-term gains? Stealing? Smoking packets of cigarettes, drinking drums of hard rum and wearing alcohol as your perfume? To help you make good choices, saturate yourself with the Word of God and let God be at the centre of whatever you do. God has given us a choice. We can choose to worship Him or not. Well, the day I discovered the truth in the Word of God, my life has never been the same. The testimonies are endless. If you truly love the Lord and you make a mistake, He will correct you. Take correction! Whether as individuals, families or nation, don’t ignore God’s correction. If you ignore God’s correction, trust me, your situation will go from bad to worse. Repent! If you love the Lord with all your heart, I can assure you that a beautiful life awaits. You may go through storms and hurricanes, but you will always overcome. Best wishes!
